Course Goal / Objective

To ensure that students have knowledge about Experimental Biology and Biotechnology in Animals.

Course Content

General information about the importance of biotechnological methods applied in animals in terms of genetic gain, animal breeding and livestock economy. Some biotechnological methods applied on animals and factors affecting the success of the methods.

Course Precondition

Being a graduate of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Agriculture (Department of Zootechnics), Department of Biology.

LO04 Students are taught how to examine scientific research on a topic and how to make a presentation.
LO05 Students describe embryo transfer in domestic and laboratory animals.
LO06 Students explain sperm preparation for embryo production.
LO07 Students explain the methods of obtaining oocytes.
LO08 Students explain the methods of maturation of oocytes under in vitro conditions.
LO09 Students explain the fertilization of oocytes under in vitro conditions.
