Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with up-to-date information on the use of postbiotics and parabiotics in food cosmetics pharmaceutical industry, production and R&D studies and scientific research.

Course Content

Parabiotics are a combination of probiotics (beneficial bacteria) and prebiotics (components that promote the growth of these bacteria). Postbiotics are metabolic products resulting from the fermentation or processing of probiotic bacteria. The use of postbiotics offers an alternative approach to gaining the benefits of probiotics or improving digestive health. Biotechnology aims to enhance potential health benefits and support sustainable gut health by producing, purifying, and optimizing parabiotics and postbiotics. It also provides methods for evaluating these compounds in the industrial food and health sectors.
