Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to enable people to understand ecological basic principles, population and community characteristics, natural cycles, environmental problems and ecological problems of humanity, to provide direction for solutions, and to develop awareness of nature conservation.

Course Content

Definition of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Historical change of the earth and its effect on the formation of species, Some basic theories and concepts in ecology, Abiotic factors and their effects on organisms, Biotic factors, Population and structural characteristics, Population Dynamics, System, open system, closed system, isolated system and examples , Community and its characteristics, Major ecosystems of the world and their distribution, Ecological problems of humanity, Protection of nature, Approaches to environmental protection and regulation, Sustainable World, Sustainable development, Use of natural resources, Our common future.
