Course Goal / Objective
The aim of the General Parasitology course is to acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills that form the basis of parasitology, to understand the general characteristics of parasites, to name parasites and parasitic diseases, to study host-parasite relationships, to examine the entry, exit, and transmission routes of parasites in the organism, to assess the damages caused by parasites in hosts, and to provide basic knowledge on the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and control methods of parasitic diseases.
Course Content
The General Parasitology course covers parasitological terms, the nomenclature of parasites and parasitic diseases, the transmission routes, reproduction, and development of parasites, the damages they cause, and the methods of prevention and control of parasitic diseases.
