Course Goal / Objective

To gain basic knowledge and skills about coordinate systems, datum, projections and transformations used in remote sensing and GIS

Course Content

Reference surfaces (Ellipsoid, Geoid, Geoid undulation); Datum concept (Local Datum, Global Datum); Geographic coordinate systems; Cartesian coordinate systems; Conversion between geographical and cartesian coordinates; Map projection; Conversion of map projection; Geodetic transformations; Earth surfaces; Datum transformation; Geodetic networks in Turkey.

There are no prerequisites for the course.
