Course Goal / Objective
To prepare students for the rational use of drugs or drug combinations; effective, safe, appropriate, in the fewest possible quantities, in appropriate doses and according to age groups.
Course Content
The content of this course includes; 1. Rational Drug Use, 2. Rational drug use during pregnancy and lactation, 3. Rational drug use in pediatric patients, 4. Rational drug use in geriatric patients, 5. Rational drug use in oncology patients, 6. Rational use of herbal products and food supplements, 7. Rational use of antibiotics, 8. Rational drug selection in patients with acute or chronic diseases, 9. Management of drug waste, 10. Student course and project presentations, 11. The role and contribution of health care professionals in the implementation of rational drug use programs.
