Course Goal / Objective
It is known that drug effects vary among individuals, both in terms of therapeutic effects and side effects, due to differences in metabolic pathways. The aim of the course is to relate this difference to the genetic structure of the patient.
Course Content
The role of pharmacogenetics in variability in drug response, Genomic basis of pharmacogenetics, Ethnic and race-specific polymorphism, Pharmacogenetic studies.
Course Precondition
None
Resources
1. Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (Katzung), 2. The Pharmacologıcal Basıs of Therapeutıcs (Goodman and Gilman), 3. Akılcıl Tedavi Yönünden Tıbbi Farmakoloji, Editör: Prof. Dr. S. Oğuz Kayaalp
