Course Goal / Objective

1. Evaluate the pharmacology of basic drug groups, 2. Describe the principles of pharmacokinetics and their clinical applications, 3. Describe the principles of pharmacodynamics and their clinical applications, 4. Evaluate the principles of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in special patient groups in pharmacology: children, geriatrics, pregnancy, lactation, pharmacogenetics, kidney disease and liver disease, etc.

Course Content

1. To understand the mechanism of action of a drug and to predict its pharmacology and likely effects. 2. To understand and apply pharmacokinetic principles. 3. To provide in-depth advice on prescribing in special patient groups, including the elderly, children, pregnant and lactating mothers and patients with kidney or liver disease. 4. To identify clinically important genotypes that produce atypical patient responses to drugs. 5. To predict and recognize possible drug interactions. 5. To explain the drug development process and the efficacy, safety and quality of drugs, basic research principles and to conduct drug-related research. 6. To assess adverse drug reactions and determine causality and to be aware of national and international pharmacovigilance systems, to diagnose and manage adverse drug reactions, to interpret and develop evidence-based prescribing guidelines. 7. To diagnose and manage poisoning and drug overdose. 8. To explain pharmacoepidemiological, pharmacoeconomic principles and to advise on cost-effective drug use. 9. To describe the pharmacology of drug dependence and to integrate other disciplines with clinical pharmacology. integrate.
