Course Goal / Objective

In the solar system, according to our current knowledge, the only planet where life exists is our Earth. Our Earth, which seems to be condemned to loneliness, is like a boat swinging in space with its living and non-living ecology. Humanity's struggle with other living things began with the cultivation of plants and with the beginning of agriculture-based industry, it became the absolute sovereign of the Earth. As humans, we share the environment we live in with many animal organisms, primarily plants. One of these organisms is "Insects". In this lessons, after giving general information about insects, the place of insects in human life and their contributions to the environment will be emphasized.

Course Content

The brief history of insects will be discussed. In order to identify insects, the structural features of insects, their feeding behaviors, and their morphological and anatomical structures in adaptation to the environment, as well as insect ecology, will be briefly explained. The place of insects in human life, their contributions to the environment and the food chain will be explained. In addition, while these topics are being explained, readings will be made from popular science books on soil, plants, insects and their relationships with the environment.
