Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to help prospective teachers explore the potential of out-of-school learning environments (such as museums, science centers, parks, streets, virtual/augmented reality tools, historical sites, etc.) in mathematics education, and to enable them to design and implement meaningful instructional activities in such settings.

Course Content

Definition and theoretical foundations of out-of-school learning; its role in mathematics education; evaluation of learning spaces such as museums, nature, historical sites, streets, and virtual platforms from a mathematical perspective; math trails and field-based STEM activities; designing and evaluating outdoor mathematical learning tasks using digital tools such as GeoGebra AR and MathCityMap.
