Course Goal / Objective

To be able to examine the basic characteristics of Turkish Education History according to the periods and to be able to examine the legal, structural and educational arrangements in the field of pre-school education, primary education, secondary education, higher education and teacher education from the first years of the Republic.

Course Content

In the content of this course, the basic features of the history of Turkish education according to periods are examined. Legal and structural regulations in the history of Turkish education are discussed and the developments in the educational levels since the foundation of the Republic are discussed. Teacher training practices according to educational levels will be detailed, and the problems and developments in the Turkish Education System in the historical process will be analyzed. This course aims to provide students with the opportunity to evaluate the history of Turkish education, development processes and structural features of the current system with a holistic approach.
