Course Goal / Objective
In this course, it is aimed to make a general definition of mythology, to determine the aspects of Eastern mythology that distinguish it from Western mythology, and to analyze how mythological elements and heroes are transformed into mythological narratives in cinema according to the Hero's Journey model.
Course Content
In this course; the definition of mythology, an introduction to Eastern mythology, the conceptual framework of Egyptian mythology, Far Eastern and Indian mythology, Anatolian and Mesopotamian mythology are determined and the transformation of these mythologies into mythological narratives in cinema is examined.
