Course Goal / Objective

Machine Elements is a branch of science that examines the calculation and shaping principles of the elements that make up machines. The aim of the course is to understand the basic static and strength information to be encountered in design, to be able to classify machine elements according to their properties, to calculate the strength of machine elements and to select the appropriate element.

Course Content

Definiton of machine, classification of machine elements, basic materials information, basic strength information, fastening elements, wedges, bolt-nut connections, pin, pivot pin connections, rivet stok, solder, welding, adhesive bonding, shaft and axis, bearings.
