Course Goal / Objective

Acquires basic knowledge that will contribute to animal health and diseases, as well as shelter hygiene, on a national and enterprise basis.

Course Content

Factors causing diseases affecting productivity in small ruminant farms, hygiene practices, regulations regarding diseases, national and international disease organizations, important animal diseases.

LO01 Has sufficient knowledge and experience on alternative production systems (organic production, good agricultural practices, good animal feeding practices, etc.).
LO02 Knows the basic characteristics of farm animals (anatomical, morphological, physiological, etc. all biological characteristics). Has sufficient knowledge on shelter planning suitable for species and environmental conditions in animal production. Has knowledge on feed production and storage, animal feeding programs according to species and environmental conditions in animal production. Has sufficient knowledge on preservation of products obtained in the enterprise in animal production.
LO03 To be able to find the source of technical and economic problems that may negatively affect the desired level of efficiency and quality in the field of animal husbandry and to develop appropriate solution suggestions.
LO04 Has technical knowledge used in applications related to his/her field
LO05 Knows and applies techniques in sheep and poultry breeding, and transfers genetic and statistical information that will form the basis of animal breeding to animal production.
