Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is to gain basic knowledge and concepts about apparel technology, to recognize production steps and basic processes in apparel, and to gain information about apparel technology quality control.

Course Content

Steps in ready-to-wear and apparel. Lay plan. Lay machines. Cutting machines. Preparation for sewing. Sewing seams, sewing machines, auxiliary parts. Overlock, double needle, chain stitch machines and sewing machines. Finishing processes applied to clothes. Fixing and ironing section, technologies used. Quality control in clothing. Production on selected products. Packaging and shipping in garments
