Course Goal / Objective

To inform the students of the Textile Engineering department about the production management and organization in the textile and ready-made clothing industry, and to provide them with learning about the current management methods and the decision-making process.

Course Content

Introduction and concepts related to production management and organization, classification of production systems, piece-type production (discrete production system-process-based production), batch-type production, mass-type production (continuous production system-product-based production). equipment and technology selection, flexible manufacturing system, FMS, computerized manufacturing forecasting, what is forecasting, product life cycle, forecasting types, strategic importance of forecasting, forecasting methods, facility location selection, stages of facility location selection , the effect of production management on the choice of factory location, human and work systems, limitations on human and work systems, job classification and business rules, lean production, motivation and incentive systems, scientific management, work environment, importance and purpose of factory organization, production of a factory capacity concept. relationship between production system and factory arrangement, factory workplace arrangement types, facility design types, fixed layout, layout by process, office, office layout, retail workplace layout, warehouse and stock layout, product centered layout, product design, product factors affecting product and service design, product and service selection, production of new product opportunities, product life cycle, product development and R D strategies, process planning, computer aided design (bdt-cad), contributions of computer aided design to production systems, project management project types, Why is project management necessary main basic rules of project management gant project planning table examination of examples for production management and organization
