Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to provide Industrial Engineering students with the ability to read manufacturing and technical drawings that they will encounter in their professional lives and also to enable them to use the technical drawing skills gained in a computer environment. In addition to the theory of technical drawing knowledge, technical drawing practices are carried out to reinforce the theoretical knowledge learned. By teaching the use of a computer-aided design program (AutoCAD), the ability to draw 2D technical drawing views, measure, prepare and fill in title blocks, make program settings and customize, and create views is gained.

Course Content

The content of the course includes the definition and history of technical drawing, basic concepts of technical drawing, technical drawing tools and equipment and their use, geometric drawings, line types, projection, dimensioning, sectioning, use of technical drawing program, drawing in a drawing program, creating views, dimensioning, preparing title blocks, sectioning, etc.
