Course Goal / Objective
The course aims to provide comprehensive content on the cultural similarities and differences that shape popular culture and everyday life in Turkey and around the world.
Course Content
The content of this course will cover Modernization Theory and its fundamental characteristics. The transition process from traditional society to modern society and the criticisms of modernization theory will be emphasized. The concept of popular culture, which holds an important place in the flow of everyday life, will be explained; the concepts of ideology and consumer society will be analyzed in the context of their relationship with popular culture.
