Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach dental students the fundamental principles of dental photography, to provide technical skills and equipment knowledge required for clinical photography, and to enable students to effectively use these skills in both clinical and academic settings.

Course Content

- Importance and applications of dental photography - Basic information on cameras, lenses, and lighting systems - Equipment required for clinical dental photography - Standard extraoral and intraoral photography positions - Use of mirrors, retractors, and contrastors - Basic camera settings: ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance - Lighting techniques and shadow management - Digital editing and archiving of photographs - Patient privacy and ethical considerations - Differences in photography usage for academic, legal, and marketing purposes
