Course Goal / Objective
Based on the achievements, language skills, and proficiency levels defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the systematic and gradual teaching of Turkish to non-native speakers is aimed; simultaneously, the introduction of Turkish culture and the strengthening of intercultural interaction are also emphasized throughout this process.
Course Content
It is structured on the basis of the A1 (beginner) and A2 (elementary) level achievements defined within the framework of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The teaching process progresses in accordance with the step-by-step course system and aims at the holistic development of the four fundamental language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).

LO01 | They can understand commonly used simple expressions and very basic sentences in daily life; introduce themselves, share basic personal information with others, and maintain short social interactions. They can express their everyday needs such as shopping, asking for directions, or ordering food using simple sentences. They can extract necessary information from short and simple written texts; fill out personal forms, and write short notes and messages. In addition, they can use basic grammar structures such as the present simple and present continuous tenses, and actively apply a vocabulary of approximately 700–1000 words in daily communication. |
LO02 | They can understand commonly used expressions and sentences related to themselves and their immediate surroundings, and can successfully manage simple communication situations encountered in daily life. They can provide clear information about their background, family, habits, education, and needs, and can relate their experiences, events, and simple stories. They can extract essential information from notices, announcements, short texts, and simple newspapers; write personal letters, messages, and short texts about their daily life. In addition, they can use basic tenses more accurately, develop their sentences with conjunctions, and effectively use a vocabulary of around 1,500 words in daily communication. |
