Course Goal / Objective
The aim is to teach the causes, mechanisms, and risk factors of common injuries in athletes; to develop injury prevention strategies; to familiarize participants with first aid procedures in case of injury; and to define the role of the coach/sports scientist in the return-to-sport process after rehabilitation.
Course Content
The epidemiology of sports injuries, injury mechanisms (acute and chronic), soft tissue and bone injuries, regional injuries (knee, shoulder, ankle, etc.), sport-specific injury types, injury prevention methods (warm-up, stretching, strength training), emergency intervention on sports fields (RICE/POLICE protocols), bandaging, and return-to-sport criteria are discussed.
