Course Goal / Objective

The course on Child Protection in Sports aims to highlight children's fundamental rights, including their right to rest, leisure, play, and free and full participation in age-appropriate physical and cultural activities. Information will be provided on ensuring appropriate and equal opportunities for children to access physical, sporting, and cultural activities. Guidelines, instructions, and declarations related to this will be examined. Given the prevalence of physical contact in sports, the potential for violence and abuse against children will be highlighted. Thus, discussions will be held on ways to protect children from the culture of violence that has become normalized and accepted by coaches, administrators, and other professionals in sports, as well as by athletes and their families.
