Course Goal / Objective
To provide fundamental engineering knowledge on highway planning, geometric design, pavement structure, drainage and construction.
Course Content
Definitions related to highway components. Characteristics of highway transportation. Characteristics of road users and vehicles. Main characteristics of highway traffic. Road capacity. Selection of highway geometric standards. Alignment and plan. Horizontal curves. Longitudinal profile and vertical curves. Urban roads, intersection. Highway infrastructure and drainage.
