Course Goal / Objective

The identification of potential risks that may arise in mining operations, the systematic analysis and evaluation of these risks, and their effective management are addressed in this context. In addition, it is aimed to predict possible labor losses and economic damages resulting from these risks and to plan and guide activities accordingly. Within this framework, the objective is to contribute to the development of a risk-oriented perspective among mining engineers and to enhance their professional competencies.

Course Content

Introduction and Purpose, Introduction to Measurement Methods, Measurement Activities and Observation, Use of Risk Management, Decision Tree Analyses, Multirisk Assessments, Monte Carlo Simulation, Development of Risk Policy, Definition of Risk Management Activities, Pre-Design Risk Management, Production Phase Risk Management, Loss Analyses, Sample Project Study, Project Presentation.
