Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this lecture is to teach students safe patient transfer and correct positioning techniques, to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare staff, and to instil preventive approaches to musculoskeletal injuries.

Course Content

This lecture covers the fundamental principles of safe patient transfer, biomechanics and body mechanics, patient assessment, basic and advanced transfer techniques, transfer approaches for different patient groups (neurological, orthopaedic, intensive care), patient positioning methods, the use of assistive devices, patient transport techniques in emergency situations, and clinical ergonomics.
