Course Goal / Objective
To be familiar with chemicals used in industry, to identify hazardous chemicals, and to have knowledge about safety precautions.
Course Content
Classification of Chemicals, Flammable and Explosive Substances, Chemical Symbols and Meanings, Storage of Chemicals, Chemical Waste, Use of Chemicals, Types of Substances Used in Workplaces, Occupational Exposure Limit Values, Chemical Risks, Health and Safety Risks and Protection Methods. General Principles for Taking Health and Safety Measures in Working with Chemical Substances, Detection Equipment, Chemical Hazard Warning Labels and Signs, Acute and Chronic Health Hazards, Fire and Other Hazards, Relevant Legislation, Hazard Rating Index, Safety Data Sheets.
