Course Goal / Objective

To explain the design principles of vehicle systems and subsystems; to provide students with the ability to plan the design process under realistic conditions and constraints, select appropriate subsystems, determine suitable materials, perform engineering calculations, carry out computer-aided analyses and cost evaluations; and to enable them to present design studies in the form of a technical report.

Course Content

Design principles, design flowchart, selection of the most suitable vehicle subsystems, material selection for vehicle systems and subsystems, calculations of vehicle systems and subsystems, computer-aided analysis of vehicle systems and subsystems, cost analysis of vehicle systems and subsystems, and reporting of the design study.
