Course Goal / Objective

This document describes the basic components of vehicles, such as the drivetrain, steering system, suspension system, braking system, wheels, air conditioning, etc., and lists and explains the tests required to verify these systems.

Course Content

Sleeves, manual transmission, torque converters, semi-automatic and automatic transmissions, propeller shafts, final drives and rear axles. Four-wheel drive systems. Tires, rims and wheel hubs. Suspension systems. Steering system. Hydraulic brake systems. Air and endurance brake systems. Anti-lock braking and traction control. Vehicle structure and aerodynamics. Vehicle validation tests.
