Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce defense industry applications in the automotive sector from a holistic perspective; to provide students with the ability to understand and analyze project management, design, validation, manufacturing, and quality processes; and to enable them to comprehend engineering approaches used in the development of defense-related vehicle systems.

Course Content

The role of the defense industry in the automotive sector, defense product range and technical characteristics, project management concepts and applications, vehicle design processes (cabin, ballistic structures, chassis and superstructure), verification and validation activities, testing and qualification processes, electrical-electronic systems, manufacturing technologies, surface coating and painting technologies, quality processes, and integrated logistics support (ILS) concepts are covered.
