Course Goal / Objective

The objective of this course is to enable pre-service art education teachers to understand the characteristics of assessment tools used in education, to enhance their awareness, knowledge, and skills regarding the use of these tools, and to ensure they internalize the key considerations for evaluating student achievement.

Course Content

This course covers assessment tools used in education and their characteristics, including tools based on traditional approaches such as written exams, short-answer exams, true-false tests, multiple-choice tests, matching tests, and oral quizzes. It also covers tools designed to assess students holistically, such as observation, interviews, performance assessments, student portfolio, research papers, research projects, peer assessment, self-assessment, and attitude scales; key considerations in evaluating student achievement; and information regarding the assessment of learning outcomes and grading.
