Course Goal / Objective

To provide students with a fundamental background in theoretical and applied rock mechanics with emphasis on problem-solving in rock engineering as well as an ability to conduct laboratory experiments and interpret the results. To teach the understanding of land(field) stress measurement tecniques and rock structure designs.
