Course Goal / Objective

To teach the origins of mines, their formation mechanisms, ore mineralization processes, and mechanics.

Course Content

Basic concepts / rocks / pegmatitic ores / pneumatolitic ores / pyrometasomatic ores Ore deposits / ore–host rock relationships / ore textures and igneous rocks / relationship between granite and ore formation / ore deposits as magma-related formation structures / classification of ores based on crystallization / hydrothermal ores / karst deposits / oxidation and cementation ores / placer formation / biochemical sedimentary iron and manganese deposits / evaporite ore deposits / geochemical and physicochemical concepts of ores.
