Course Goal / Objective

To introduce all stages of rocks and materials used as aggregates, starting from their geological formation through to production processes; and to provide students with fundamental knowledge and skills regarding the classification, exploitation, quality control, and application areas of aggregate resources. It also aims to enable students to evaluate the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of aggregates and to develop the competence to select appropriate materials for construction and industrial applications.

Course Content

Classification and definitions of raw materials that can be used as aggregates, sampling from aggregates, analysis methods, physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of aggregates, and aggregate utilization technologies.
