Course Goal / Objective

The primary goal of this course is to introduce students to the scientific foundations and practical applications of positive psychology. Other objectives include:To explain the historical development of positive psychology and its relationship with traditional psychology.To examine concepts such as subjective and psychological well-being, optimism, resilience, life satisfaction, and hope in the light of scientific data.To assist students in identifying their own character strengths and virtues.To inform students about positive intervention methods (e.g., gratitude journaling, flow experience, self-compassion).

Course Content

This course focuses on this latter development by examining scientific research centered on the nature of happiness and psychological well-being. Topics include the nature and measurement of subjective and psychological well-being, life satisfaction, resilience, hope, flow, optimism, character strengths, forgiveness, mindfulness, self-compassion, life of meaning and purpose, gratitude and emotional intelligence. relationships.
