Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach students heat treatment processes applied to metals, phase transformations, microstructural changes, and control of mechanical properties. It aims to provide basic knowledge and practical skills in heat treatment techniques used to improve material properties.

Course Content

Introduction to heat treatment, iron-carbon equilibrium diagram, phase transformations, annealing processes, hardening processes, tempering, normalizing, surface hardening methods, heat treatment furnaces, microstructure analysis methods, effects on material properties, and occupational safety.
