In the Science Education Program; 4 professors, 3 associate professors, 3 Dr. A total of 10 faculty members with doctoral degrees, including Research Assistants, are working. The academic staff of the doctoral program are in a position to provide education at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. As a result; the proposed doctoral program; It fulfills an important task both in terms of improving teacher qualifications and in providing doctoral education opportunities to teachers who want to do doctorate in Adana and the surrounding provinces, the number of which cannot be ignored. In addition, it makes significant contributions to the training of science teachers who are experts in their fields, questioning the changing trends in the world in teacher education from an academic point of view and contributing to regional practices.

The program, which is shaped around the science education discipline, offers a holistic education around the theoretical foundations of the science teaching discipline, the nature of science, effective science education and research methods, and helps students to turn to different fields of science education with elective courses. Science Education Doctorate Program is carried out according to Çukurova University Graduate Education Regulations. In order to graduate from the program, candidates must be successful in at least 7 credit courses, specialization courses, seminar course and thesis work, with a total of not less than 21 credits.

Goals
The aim of the Science Education Doctorate Program is to develop the professional knowledge and skills of science teachers in parallel with the programs in developed countries within the framework of universal norms and to train researcher teachers who can conduct scientific research in this direction. The graduate program opened for this purpose serves to meet both national and regional needs, and provides the development of teachers who do not break with the literature. National contribution; Our aim is to train teachers and education researchers who constantly question the programs, follow modern education methods and apply these innovations to the country's conditions in order to achieve the success of the reform movements carried out in the field of education and education faculties in our country. The regional contribution is; The fact that Çukurova University is located in Adana, one of the few big cities in Turkey, and there is no other educational institution providing graduate education in science education in Adana, so the program will fill the gap arising from this. In Adana, a city where more than 21000 teachers work, approximately 12000 of whom are in primary education institutions, science teachers are offered the opportunity to obtain a doctorate degree in their geography.

Specific Admission Requirements

Graduates of the Science Education doctorate program, teaching at the Ministry of National Education and its affiliated private schools; They can work as teachers in Science and Art Centers, as specialists or educational technologists in the Ministry of National Education and its affiliated private schools, or as civil servants in different institutions of the state. They can also work in fields related to instructional technologies in the private sector. In addition to these, they can also work as lecturers at universities.
