General Information

Founded in 1972 as an affiliate of Atatürk University, Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine (ÇÜTF) is located on a total of 22,000 decares of land on the Balcalı Campus of Çukurova University. In addition to administration and education and training units, our faculty has laboratories that enable various research in different disciplines, and a hospital complex with a capacity of 1200 beds, which provides high-level health and education services to the region of Çukurova, South, Southeastern and Eastern Anatolia. The Master's programme in Public Health is taught by the faculty members of the Department of Public Health at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine. Three of the faculty members are public health specialists and two of them hold the degree of PhD (doctor of public health). The programme is carried out theoretically and practically. The Department has a laboratory that allows practical training in environmental health and basic laboratory services. Master's programme in Public Health is a programme that is open to students who have a bachelor's degree in the field of health sciences that has provided basic knowledge of health sciences with basic notions of public health. Besides providing basic notions of public health, the programme aims to graduate science specialists (Master's Degree, MSc) who know how to identify and analyse the health problems of the world and our country, who know the principles of care at the first level health care, who carry this knowledge to the skill with applications to the extent of possibilities, and who can apply for a Doctorate (PhD) of Public Health (Doctor of Public health) programmes.

The Master's programme in Public Health includes an education programme that aims to provide knowledge and practical skills in the basic subjects of public health such as basic public health, child and adolescent health, women's and maternal health and family planning, health manpower and health management, epidemiology, environmental health, occupational health and safety, immunisation and infectious diseases.

Goals

The Master's programme in Public Health aims to provide knowledge, skills and attitudes for identifying the health problems of the society by using scientific methods and epidemiological techniques, perceiving the social characteristics of the society, and intervening in the identified problems by using health promotion and health education strategies.

Objectives

The Master's programme in Public Health aims to train scientific specialists who would take part in research, consultancy and management duties; the provision of preventive and curative health services, the investigation of epidemics, health education of the community and the operation of public health laboratories.

Holding a bachelor's degree in the field of health sciences that has provided the basic knowledge to be a scientific expert in the field of public health in addition to the Admission Requirements for Graduate Programmes
