General Information

Goals

Programin Amaci The Program's Purpose Before the history of the day-to-day development of civilization and the days spent on the scientific process of evaluating the stages; to develop researchers, open, productive and creative individuals who can use the new scientific and technological methods that develop rapidly in archeology, which can be used to protect and preserve the historical environment and cultural values, to gain and develop the awareness of cultural heritage in the society. While educating our students as a good archaeologist with their undergraduate and graduate education and bringing them profession, we can understand the civilizations that were established in antiquity, especially Anatolia in the thousands of years of adventure of mankind together with all the cultural elements and to understand the artistic and intellectual productions, in the context of cause-effect relations. In addition to this, our ultimate goal is to ensure the enlightenment of the regional archaeologist and the foreground of the cultural area with the excavations and surface surveys carried out by our university both in Anatolia and in the geography where our university is affiliated. At the end of the four-year undergraduate education in the department, it is aimed at researching, identifying, researching and protecting the world cultural heritage and especially the historical heritage of Anatolia, taking it into its own and humanity and embracing it as a cultural identity both in the country and in the vision of universal world cultural heritage. , introducing and publishing scientific publications. For this purpose, it is aimed to provide a quality education firstly, to organize national and international congresses, to participate in organized congresses, to program and execute European Union projects such as Erasmus-Socrates.

Objectives

Programin Hedefi In order to graduate qualified students from the department of archeology, participatory education activities such as seminars, panels, conferences, examination and research trips for application, as well as visual theoretical courses supported by auxiliary materials such as drawing, photography, projection and computer, such as land activities and excavations, as required by the surface investigations and museum studies and to participate in the excavation and to have experience to be. Specific Admission Requirements

Students who have 240 ECTS course loadings in the 4 year curriculum of the department of archeology and have a GPA of at least 2.00 will be awarded the student degree if they successfully complete all the courses together with the excavation internship course and finishing work.

Qualification Awarded

The Students who have successfully completed this program will be awarded an Archeology degree and these will become an archaeologist

Qualification Requirements of Graduation

Students must obtain a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the programme (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS).

Access to Further Studies

The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee”, which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview.

Internship

After the 6th semester of the education period, As a team member in the scientific archaeological excavation and surface investigations approved by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums, they undertake a total of 30 days internship with various responsibilities.
