Course Goal / Objective

Introducing the Turkish Language History starting from the first written sources until the 13th century, with all its features and informing the student about the periods without written records.

Course Content

Language history material in general, sciences it benefits from, relationships between languages, language history and information (bibliography) on history of language and Turkish Language History.

LO04 Explains the Tuna Bulgarian, Volga Bulgarian and Çauvşça language materials which constitute the r / l branch of Turkish.
LO05 Lists the Altaic languages theory, the bases of the theory and its weaknesses.
LO06 Explains the old Turkish period which is the first written language of z / ş branch of Turkish with its works and features.
LO07 Evaluates the relationship between Old Turkish and Karakhanid Turkish with similar and different aspects of the two periods.
LO08 Explains other historical and contemporary dialects of historical Turkish written languages that developed until the 13th century.
