Course Goal / Objective

Introducing the Turkish Language History starting from the first written sources until the 13th century, with all its features and informing the student about the periods without written records.

Course Content

Evaluating the general phonetics, morphology, vocabulary, etc. of Karakhan texts and introducing other historical written languages developed in the z/ş arm after the development of this written form.

2 Introducing Kypchak Turkish features and the works of the period, review. Assignment: The birth of Western Turkish, discussions on bilingual works and the Old Anatolian Turkish.
3 Debate on the birth of Western Turkish and bilingual works. Assignment: The features of Old Anatolian Turkish and works of the period.
4 Characteristics of Old Anatolian Turkish, its features and the works of the period, review. Review of the period of Ottoman Turkish and its properties
5 Characteristics of Ottoman Turkish, its features and the works of the period, review Review of the Chagatai term, the scope of the term, and language features in the works of the period
6 Chagatai features the works of the period, introducing the review. Tanzimat, Servet-i periods of Science, and the National Literary discussions and simplification of the language will be given assignments to work.
