Course Goal / Objective
To form a general perspective of art and concepts of art, and to give information about the artist, work of art, basic principles of art
Course Content
This course describes and explains what functions art performs and how it is defined based on its functions in connection with thought and belief systems that have prevailed in different historical periods. Besides, the ontological approach, which analyses art as an autonomous field of existence, is explained with reference to information object, aesthetic object, and aesthetic processes. In addition, problem of meaning in art is examined under the titles of subject, theme and content , along with image, allegory and basic elements of art object.
