Course Goal / Objective

Interrogate the operating of media industry in Turkey. Interpret the media industry in Turkey at the levels of production, text and consumption. Construct/design proposals for new models despite the negativenesses of media industry in Turkey.

Contain the basic approaches orientating the field of mass media studies.

LO01 Explain the basic approaches (critical and liberal approaches), orientating the field of mass media studies.
LO02 Explain the basic concepts, background and historical classifications of critical approach.
LO03 Analyse the fundamental different points and specifications of every single approach constructing critical paradigm.
LO04 Evaulate the the critical approach s view about the media environment as a whole at the levels of product, production and consumption.
LO05 Evaluate the theoretical principles of critical approach, adopting them media milieu in Turkey.
