Course Goal / Objective

To teach the definition of pests, to learn about insects, to distinguish them from other arthropods, to teach the general morphology and metamorphosis of insects, to give information about important insect taxon and some important families that are economically harmful, and to give information about their management. Definition of phytopathology and weed science, their study areas, biotic and abiotic factors which cause disease in plants, general characteristics of plant pathogens and their symptoms, and give information about weeds and their general characteristics, their management.
