Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to give information about manual and automatic control methods of the systems and the simple automatic control systems used in the agriculture. The other aims are to give information about the practices of the acquired knowledge and the examination of processes in agriculture.

Course Content

Definition of process control and basic concepts . The measured quantities in Food Production Processes, Units Used. Sensors-Sensors. Physical systems and block diagram. Transfer functions; definition, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, transfer functions, mechanical-electrical system analogy. Block diagram reduction rules and block the signal flow diagram. Transition functions, the frequency characteristic. Industrial organs of control and settings. Stability of control systems. Manual and automatic control methods. P, PI, PD and PID Control. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Comparison of PLC with the conventional control systems. Data collection, observation and control samples using HMI SCADA Systems
