Course Goal / Objective

Introduction to rigid body mechanics

Course Content

Operations done with in-plane loads. Equilibrium equations of rigid bodies and structural elements. Analysis of simple structural elements. Structural systems and support reactions. Calculation of cross sectional internal forces of beam, truss systems and simple frame elements. Distributed load concept. Calculation of central gravity of surface elements
