Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is recognizing properties, representatives, and works of Old Turkish Literature based on an example to introduce the texts in 15th century.

Course Content

The content of this course is characteristics of Old Turkish Literature in 15th century informations about written works literary personalities and lives of important members of these years. General information on the prose of the era. 15th centurys written works and Mesnevis, and reading understanding and examining these types of works. Evaluations of the literary personalities and the works of main poems of the century such as Emiri, Sekkaki, Lutfi, Mirza Haydar, Mirza Gedayi, Yakini, Atayi, Sultan Hüseyin Baykara, Ali Şir Nevayi . Katibi, Bedri Şirvani, Hakiki (Cihanşah Yusuf), Hamidi, Habibi, Ahmedi Dai, Şeyhi, Ahmet Paşa, Necati, poet sultans Muradi (II. Murad), Avni (Fatih Sultan Mehmed), Adli (II. Bayezid), Harimi (Şehzade Korkud), Cem poets Sadii Cem, Sirozlu Kandi, Sehayi, Haydar Çelebi, Lali, Ayni, Şahidi, Türabi, İvaz Paşazade Atayi, Cemali, Karamanlı Nizami. Lives, literary personalities and works of Sarıca Kemal, Melihi and Mesihi, Ümmi Kemal, Eşrefoğlu Rumi, Zeynep Hatun, Mihri. 15th century Anatolia in the field of printed Mesnevis and prose literature.

3 Life, literary personality and works of Ali Şir Nevayi. Reading the articles introducing the poets and period.
4 Turkish Literature in Azerbaijan Field. Lives, literary personalities and works of Katibi, Bedri Şirvani, Hakiki (Cihanşah Yusuf), Hamidi, Habibi. Poetical samples of poets being analyzed.
5 15th century Turkish Literature general properties. Lives, literary personalities and sample poems of Ahmedi Dai and Şeyhi. Poetical samples of poets being analyzed.
6 Lives, literary personalities, works and sample poems of Ahmet Paşa and Necati. Poetical samples of poets being analyzed.
7 15th century of poet sultans or statesmen: Muradi (II. Murad), Avni (Fatih Sultan Mehmed), Adli (II. Bayezid), Harimi (Şehzade Korkut) Poetical samples of poets being analyzed.
