Course Goal / Objective
To learn and understand artistic tendencies, styles and movements taking place between 19th century and the present time, along with their intellectual and plastic propositions
Course Content
In this course, students first study artistic propositions in the 19th century that have affected the 20th century art and then examine the main trends of the 20th century Western Art, ranging from Cubism to Surrealism, from Abstract Exxpressionism to Pop Art, from Landscape Art to Performance and Individuality Art. In addition, they are exposed to post-modern processes that create opportunities for artists seeking new ways and tools of expression for the new issues in the changing world.
