Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach students the distribution theory of order statistics and how to use them in statistical inference.

Course Content

Distributions of order statistics, moments of order statistics, moment recurrence relations, linear estimation, maximum likelihood estimation, approximate likelihood estimation, optimal estimation, Cohen-Whitten estimators, estimation in regression models, censored samples
