Course Goal / Objective

The relationship between psychophilic microorganisms and biotechnology

Course Content

Bacteria of ice and glacier, bacteria under glacial environment, psychophysiophilic bacteria, Permafrost bacteria, cold ecosystem anaerobe bacteria and archeas, cyanobacteria in cold ecosystem, fungi and viruses in cold ecosystem, Cold-shock proteins, characteristics of cold adapted enzymes Biotechnological applications of enzymes active in cold, Biometabolite production and biotechnological application of cold adapted mushrooms, Low temperature organic iron oxidation and sulfate reduction will be explained.
