Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to introduce the flora and vegetation diversity in Turkey in its various aspects, and to teach the general characteristics.
Course Content
History of floristic research in Turkey, flora and vegetation formation, climate changes, biotic factors, effects of grazing and fires on vegetation, the origin of the flora of Turkey, Turkey paleoflora, Turkey's general flora features, flora regions in Turkey, causes of Turkey's plant richness, endemism, endemic varieties, distribution according to group plants of various taxa, important regions in terms of Turkey's endemic plants.
